Open to all players. (a FIDE rated event)
Seven Round Swiss - Entry fee £40.00
Prizes: 1st £500; 2nd £250; 3rd £100; 4th £50
Rate of play: 40 moves in 2 hours and then all remaining moves in an additional half hour
The highest-placed eligible player is awarded the right to enter the 2009 British Championship in Torquay upon payment of their own fee.
Players entering the FIDE Open must be registered members of their national federation. Those not registered and resident in England must complete a registration form before the start of the first round.
